Summary
Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji are sent to the past after a night-hunting incident. Step one: blend in. Step two: avoid all the disasters looming on the horizon. Step three: live with what they know of how events could have turned out — did turn out — if they hadn't returned to the past.
All told, Lan Wangji thinks the war and the thirteen years of mourning that followed were easier to handle than pretending to be a teenager who is not married to his husband. Especially once there's a war on.

Lan Xichen’s lips quirk. “I thought that might be your reaction,” he murmurs. His tone is teasing when he reminds Jiang Cheng, “Your brother doesn’t have enough money to be able to afford to play pranks like this on you.”
It doesn’t go unnoticed to Jiang Cheng that Lan Xichen has sneakily slipped in the fact that he knows who Wei Wuxian is to Jiang Cheng, even though that information wasn’t volunteered.

Lan Zhan nodded slowly. “This is a dream.”
“Yeah,” Wei Wuxian said, then firmer: “Yes. No harm done. You can eye me up.”
