Gon sucks in a shuddering breath. His heart pounds, hard and insistent, as if he was still face-to-face with the Chimera Ant. He doesn’t understand how they escaped. Not when the enemy was hundreds, no, thousands of times stronger than any of them could have ever predicted.
But they did escape. Somehow. Kite is injured but otherwise whole. And Killua—
And Killua. Where is Killua?

Summary
The look on Killua’s face when Wing releases his Nen is unmistakable.
He hadn’t meant to frighten the boys when he showed them his technique, just impress upon them the power they were facing if they continued at Heaven’s Arena. Gon’s reaction had been the kind of thing he was expecting—his face pale, his muscles tensed, eyes wide and shocked.
But Killua had been a different matter altogether.
Wing had blinked, and Killua was clinging to the far corner of the ceiling, trembling so badly that Wing worried he was going to fall.
Killua’s reaction wasn’t just sensible shock and alarm at facing an unknown power. No, it was the conditioned reaction of someone who’d encountered Nen a thousand times before and was certain that pain was soon to follow it.
Killua’s reaction was a flinch.

Summary
“I-I just . . .”
“You just what, Gon.” His soft white hair was disheveled, sneakers coated in fresh city grime, and he looked like he wanted to scream—in a way that only Gon could recognize. His stance was composed, cold, calculated; with Killua it was all in his eyes.
But for one of the record first times in his life, Gon had no words. For the first time, he didn’t want to be honest. He didn’t want to be straightforward. He was sick of telling everyone in the world exactly what he felt and wanted. Some things, some things were sacred. Some things Killua wouldn’t understand.
He wouldn’t understand that Gon wanted him to himself.
[OR Gon reunites with his best friend only to experience a night of blinding, all-consuming jealousy.]
