Summary
Hermione has been an orphan for as long as she can remember. Her life has been plagued by an incessant moving from one foster home into another and she has quite never felt like she belonged or like the world she lived in held any wonder for her. However, when the Grangers adopt her, everything changes. Or does it?
A Harry Potter non-canon divergence (a blatant AU, basically) starring an orphan Hermione and a sane Bellatrix Lestrange. I would not want to spoilt it, but I swear it is worth the read. I'll just reveal that Bellatrix might be a DADA teacher and that you should not consider any events of the Harry Potter canon having taken place unless it is specifically stated throughout the story. Yes, I have definitely messed with the universe big time.

The Originals...the Mikaelsons.
I have heard so many great things about them over the past millennium. They might be the oldest vampires in the world, the Originals, but they are not the oldest immortals.
Only a small number even recall Silas.
Few still worship him or have heard of him at all. These followers want to release him from the tortuous state that dear Qetsiyah left him in. Silas...is the oldest vampire at over two thousand years old, if that is what you want to call him.
I laugh whenever I run into a worshiper of his, but I never share the missing piece to their story.
They always fail to mention, much less consider, that someone taught Silas and Qetsiyah how to use their magic. The magic that Qetsiyah would use to create the immortality spell and the spell that would eventually be the beginning of vampirism.
She looked the same age as them, but it was known that her age was way beyond what it appeared. She was not a Traveler, but calling her a witch was much too simple.
In the end, an extra dosage of Qetsiyah's spell only added to her power.
