clancy is overthinking, and he overcompensates by pulling the blankets all the way over his head. as a kid he made forts in his bed to weather rainy days; this one does nothing to stop the clouds gathering at the corners of his eyes.
the first tear is silent to no one’s surprise, and the next, and the next. he’s gotten better at these breakdowns since his last stay with the banditos, now donning the mask of their strongest martyr. clancy was so brave, tyler must be braver still to become him.

Summary
On Valentine's day Josh has left the box on the side of the road but he remains in the yard, chopping wood.
Tyler comes. Waves at Josh and when Jim comes wagging his tail Tyler stucks the envelope under his collar, before taking the box and leaving.
Josh cuts off a new round of heads until sunset.
