Summary
Natima, heart of my heart. Beloved in all things. I know you’ll have heard some things recently. Some not good things. Please. Let me explain?
A letter from a tailor, a fresh-made warlock, to her lover, attempting to explain accusations of theft, destruction of property, and the summoning of demons. Well, genies. None of which are as they sound. None of which are her fault. None of which would be an issue if damned wizards kept track of where they left their gemstones, damn it!Bookmarked by V_as_in_Victor

This is one of the most bizarrely understandable adventurer backstories I have ever read.

A Petition for the Dissolution of this Friendship by HeronS

Summary
When Spock comes to Kirk to “petition for the dissolution of their friendship”, Kirk realizes that he really has no idea what this relationship would mean in Spock’s alien culture. A story about friendship and culture clashes, and the fact that “t’hyla” and “measured, proportionate reactions” don’t seem to go well together.
(As evidence for that, let me just say: The Search For Spock. :) )

Bookmarker's Notes
Thoughtful and complex, both as character studies and as a look at cultural differences and how to intelligently navigate them.

Summary
It is January 3, 2267, and Spock ch’Sarek is more than ready for the human holiday season to be over. Overall, it has been confusing, loud and has involved far too much tactile contact with various people.
But his friends have decided that there is one more holiday, a Vulcan Joining, that needs to be celebrated before the Enterprise returns to regular duty…
This fic is for all expats out there, who have had to celebrate important occasions far from home. And for all of us who need a break from the hustle and bustle of late December, and who remember that the underlying theme for all celebrations, religious and secular, are affection, fellowship and reflection.

Summary
Kirk, Spock and Chekov are caught in a difficult ethical situation. Ethics, friendship, poor pre-First Contact society.
"We stood by and saw your ancestors die, because they were too primitive? We stole whatever we thought profitable of your ideas and your arts, and gave them to our well-fed friends while their inventors starved?"

Bookmarker's Notes
Short, but powerful, discussion of the ethics of first contact. Very good.
