Summary
She looks up and her eyes meet Addison's and suddenly they're back in her kitchen with Addison hovering above her, touching her, kissing her and Meredith could swear moments like this only existed in movies, but here they are in the middle of prom in a fucking hospital and she could spend forever just looking at Addison.
(or, a season 2 au where Meredith falls in love with Addison.)

Summary
When George takes advantage of a vulnerable Meredith, it sets off a chain reaction that nobody could have predicted. As the aftermath unfolds, both Meredith and Addison overhear each other in surprising encounters, sparking a profound reckoning of their own self-worth and hidden desires. Will they succumb to their insecurities, or will they find the strength to forge a new path forward?
---
This was inspired by the scene between Meredith and George in Season 2 Episode 26 where George tells Meredith that "one night with you is better than never". It bothered me that Meredith was clearly in a vulnerable state, and George took advantage of that with his selfishness. As a friend, he should have known better.
Plus, it is impossible for anyone not to overhear the conversation in the middle of a hallway. My original idea was Addison overhearing which leads to a realization of her own worth and reciprocated feelings between her and Meredith. Then, I stumbled upon an idea on Tumblr by heraeire that aligned, which got me thinking:
Why not have both Meredith and Addison overhear each other?

Summary
Season 3 AU in which Meredith and Addison make a mess of falling for each other.
—
It starts with stolen moments of peace, granted to each other as a strange act of benevolence. Some might think her a good person, to do the younger surgeon such a kindness, but Addison knows better. She’s not a good person. Her kindness isn’t altruistic. It never was.
They say the road to hell is paved with good intentions. But Addison Montgomery never claimed to be good. Maybe she really is the devil, Satan herself, in her personal hell. The trouble was those who seemed all too willing to go down with her.
