“All this for loitering?” Molly asks, forcing his tail to feign confidence and calm. “Seriously, you guys are doing too much.”
One of the guards holding him clears his throat. “Actually, this is for attacking us. That gets a serious punishment.”
He immediately turns back to the door as it slams shut with a loud thunk, sealing his fate in the damp room that’s cold enough that he can see his breath on every exhale. He sends a quick thank you toward his tiefling heritage for having him run warmer, then turns around to take stock of the cell.
Except his eyes pause as they meet a pair of clear blue eyes, frozen as they stare at him and causing Mollymauk some pause. His focus has now shifted; screw the room, who the fuck is this?

Summary
The neon lights lining the streets aren’t enough to blind the citizens to the officials blatantly bribing the police to enact unheard-of laws and keep the cost of work down. The constant movement in the city can’t drown out the blatant theft as billionaires take whatever they want from poorer people and companies–and if the people get defensive, they get arrested.
However, the lights are bright enough and the streets are loud enough to make the cops invisible to him until it’s too late. One minute, he's browsing a small store for quality control, trying to find anything to put them out of business so he might get promoted for that pension, and the next his hands are behind his back in titanium cuffs. But he didn’t do anything.
“Jimmy Solidarity, you’re under arrest."

“Mr. Tek,” a man in a suit greeted, setting a stack of files on the very same metal desk he was chained to. “I’ve been meaning to talk to you for a while but you’ve been…busy, to say the least.”
Yeah, busy building a rebellion from the ground up. It’s taken a few years and several grey hairs, but it’s finally at a stage he can be proud of. But he didn’t need to know that.

Summary
Jimmy undergoes the sensitive period, a period of time in which he mimics the songs he hears and implements them into his own. Except rather than mimicking songs, he's mimicking different acts of love, learning from his friends, his family, how to show affection. Written in the form of a 5 1 because obviously.
Or, 5 times in which Jimmy mimicked different forms of affection, and 1 time that everyone realizes what's happened.
Based on an actual biological concept with songbirds, if you're interested please look into songbird's sensitive periods. Super interesting stuff although according to google I'm wrong (I know I'm not super wrong cuz it was written in a textbook).
