Summary
Four Little Words turns Una's life upside down. She never thought her heaven would crumble beneath her. She had been told all her life if she was a good girl, a good woman, and later a good wife. She would have the world at her fingertips, so she made herself just that. She never complained, did what was expected of her and always obeyed her husband.
With four words, she found herself learning that Good didn't guarantee heaven.
The title is taken from Tennyson's Poem Tears of Heaven.

Rilla always loved the tale of Persephone and Hades— Cruel, bittersweet and tragic. She never expected Hades to bring his underworld to the surface in the form of a war. Trapped in a new reality where her brothers and her carefree life are taken from her Only to be given back in a band of gold.
Though much like the tale, this Persephone refuses to give up hope.

It was the popular opinion of Rilla's children that one of life's singular ironies was that Persis Ford indexed other people's work for a living while taking care no one index her. They did it anyway. The children, that is. Over the years, pieced together this other, lesser-known love story.
