Aziraphale and Crowley are settling into their new life in the South Downs, but feel as though they still don't have a place to themselves in their cottage. They think they can find a way to make their own little nest, away from the rest of the house, if only they would sit down and talk about it.

Sometimes a nest consisted of robins, chickadees, mockingbirds, or even alligators. Others were for magpies collecting any little shiny trinkets they could find. And sometimes, a nest consisted of an angel and demon, finally together on their own side.

But he owned a bed. And he sometimes lay in it, and closed his eyes...
For longer than he can remember, there's been a secret relationship with Crowley. But if he can't see it, then it can't be real, can it? So long as he pretends he's dreaming, it'll all be just fine.
This fic does reference use of BSL/deafblind manual alphabet. Neither ineffable is deaf or blind, but alternative forms of communication are important to them, for reasons which will become apparent. They also use custom signals of their own that do not correlate to BSL signs, and likely predate them by centuries. You don't need to know any of them for the fic however, all are written in plain English.

Summary
Though he had accomplished nearly every impossible task set forth by the Heavens, though he had everything his heart desired, the Monkey King was boastful, selfish and unkind to the outside world beyond his island home. He had always viewed mankind with a disdainful distaste, as if the random fisherman passing by his island had somehow personally wronged him. Entertainment seemed to be humanity's only real purpose to the Monkey King, as chasing them away from his island made good sport, and their foolish mortal tendencies always left his sides aching with how much he laughed at them.
That was, until he actually got to know one of them.
