Summary
After the Battle of New York, Steve retreated to his apartment rather than seek out treatment with SHIELD medical. When Captain America didn't show up the next morning, the Black Widow was sent to retrieve him. Natasha found him - blood-stained and unconscious. Here's what happened, after. It doesn't take long for the Avengers to realize that something isn't right with Steve Rogers.
This is a direct sequel to Aftermath, but it's not required reading.

Summary
Casita had fallen, the Candle was extinguished, the Miracle broken, and their Gifts were gone - seemingly for good. Luisa had failed to prevent any of this, had failed in her sole purpose of protecting her home and family. As the Madrigals rebuild their house, Luisa finds she must learn who she is in the wake of so many changes. Can she put together the broken pieces of her identity?
Luckily, her family isn't going to let her try to shoulder that burden alone.

“What about you, Barnes?” asks Dugan. The sound of his voice brings Bucky back to the present, dredges him out of memories of a beat-up little apartment with sunlight streaming in through the windows. “Got yourself a girl waiting for you back home?”
There’s an answer on the tip of his tongue, one that he’ll deliver with a cocky grin and a half-laugh and a little shake of his head. But Bucky is exhausted and hungry and so sore it hurts to move, and one of the guys in their platoon fucking died yesterday. His mouth tastes like iodine water and his feet hurt and none of it’s going to get better any time soon, and all at once Bucky misses Steve so badly he can barely see straight.
“Yeah,” Bucky declares abruptly, the word escaping from his mouth before he fully realizes what he’s saying. “Yeah, I do.”

After the battle in New York, there's a renewed flood of public interest in Captain America. Steve's OK doing some publicity here and there, but not really comfortable at all being a "dancing monkey" all the time. Sometimes he'd like to be anonymous again, able to just walk down the street and blend in.
He turns to Bruce, who has years of experience blending into a crowd. Bruce helps Steve "schlub up" and teaches him some tricks for not standing out. They start going out into the city together to test it out, and as they do, they end up having a really good time together. Enough that they keep doing "test runs" that start to feel suspiciously more and more like "dates"... eventually Bruce/Steve ensues.

Written for a prompt on avengerkink:
I want to see something where, for whatever reason, Steve's accelerated healing turns out to be a bad thing. Something where the faster healing is making things worse. I would prefer something other than the standard, super-healing allows for more torture without death.
“He's lucky – to have the serum, to have you all.” Tony wasn't sure about that first part.
When one faced death and destruction every day on the job, there were many advantages to having a healing factor...and a great many disadvantages as well.
