“Pen…” Colin stared down at her, his expression strange and intense and focused very much on her mouth.
“I’m sorry, that was not very ladylike of me,” Penelope whispered, her fingers still pressed to her lips. She was so hot everywhere again, even her thighs seemed to grow damp.
“No, I–” Colin, already far nearer than proprietary allowed, stepped closer. The warmth of his body mingled with her own and drove it higher, burning across her chest and cheeks. A scent rose from him, the light musk carried by the rising breeze that drifted through the tent. Penelope instantly wanted more of it, wanted to fill her lungs with great gasps of something so distinctively Colin. “Have I told you how lovely you look today?”
