Summary
There it was in big bold letters, painted on his bathroom mirror with deep red lipstick. Someone had broken into his home just to write a threatening message, and for what? Just to scare him?
After having his house broken into just days after his naked pictures are splashed on the front page of every trash magazine in the country, Magnus is done. The last thing he wants is to have an FBI agent move into his flat and follow him around like a bodyguard. Even when said FBI agent turns out to be both unfairly gorgeous and kind.
As things unravel will they learn to open up and trust each other or will the secret horrors in their pasts keep them apart? And what happens when the threat turns out to be more than just words?

Summary
Alec presses the small burner phone against his ear to block out the noise and looks cautiously over his shoulder, there is no one there except the family he just passed. He keeps looking though every now and then to make sure no one is following him. He has to stay vigilant, every move has to be carefully planned as to not get caught. It’s worth it though, these phone calls are the highlight of his week.
“Why did you do it?”
“Do what?” Alec asks in a confused tone to which Magnus responds with a light chuckle. Their last topic had been strategy and secret hangouts.
“Why did you decide to help us?” Magnus clarifies, sounding genuinely curious.
Alec swallows thickly and takes some time to think over his answer. He’s been afraid of this question ever since they first started working together, and to be honest, he’s rather surprised it’s taken Magnus this long to ask. A shadowhunter helping a downworlder is the worst form of treason as far as the Clave is concerned, so he understands the question he really does. It’s just hard, there are so many memories he would rather forget, but he reckons he owes Magnus an answer, or at least a try at one.

“Because!” Alec cried, flinging his own arms up in the air. “Someone is very loudly thinking extremely explicit things about you!”
“And? I’m pretty sure it’s nothing you haven’t heard before?” Jace snapped, his frustration now warring with his smug pride.
“Yeah, by loud, I don’t mean easier to hear amongst all the rest, I mean really f@*king loud, Jace,” Alec snapped back.
They both turned back towards the table to find nearly half the people sat around it staring at Magnus Bane.
“I will admit to the explicit thoughts,” he said, holding a perfectly manicured finger up as he tried not to smirk. He looked straight at Alec. “But I most certainly wasn’t thinking about Blondie.” ‘Pretty boy.’ He winked and Alec felt his jaw drop.
