Summary
“Is there anything I can do to help with dinner?” He asks, moving to stand next to Sethos by the stove, drawn by the fragrant smell wafting from it. Sethos scoots over a bit to allow Kazuha more space to see it, and the hand holding the seasonings slows to a stop as he thinks.
“Not really. The meat is just about done, so all that will be left is preparing the plate, which I can do myself.” Kazuha frowns slightly, not as keen on watching Sethos do everything while he sits around waiting the way Hat Guy is. “But, if you’d like, you can set the plates out on the table. They’re in that cabinet there.” He points to one to his left, and the samurai obliges. “Thank you, Kazuha.” He smiles appreciatively, and Kazuha nods, feeling a pleasant warmth spread in his chest.
“Repulsive,” The man sitting at the table grumbles.

Summary
“I’m curious about him, this adeptus. Aether seems to like him a lot, and even though the Traveler gets along well with many people, it’s still a testament to one’s character.” Scara's brow furrows at this.
“How’d you figure that? And what makes this particular person so interesting to you?” In a rare display of openness, he lets his interest show.
“Take you, for example. You’re quite an intriguing person, and the Traveler considers you a friend.” And before Scara can respond, Albedo counters him preemptively. “He’s told me so himself, Scara.” He says, almost sternly. It surprises Scara for a moment. “And about your question of why this person in particular, it’s simply because of the way Aether spoke about him.”
“And how did Aether speak about him?”
“Much the same way he spoke about you. Like he was someone worth getting to know.”

Scara, after so many years of not letting himself develop any sort of relationship with anyone (Nahida being the unintentional exception), lets curiosity be his undoing.

Summary
“Yeah, it looks good…honey.” The words sound incredibly awkward leaving his mouth, and he’s sure everyone around him can feel it too. It makes embarrassment rush through him, and he clenches his fists. The woman running the stall slaps a hand over her mouth, and gods, why did he agree to this in the first place? Nothing could convince him that it was worth this embarrassment.
But then Sethos breaks out into a smile so large that Scara genuinely winces under its ferocity. His eyes curve into crescents of happiness, and maybe the embarrassment that Scara feels weakens in intensity, but only a bit.
“Thank you, love. I knew I could count on you.” Sethos says, grabbing his hand and pressing his lips to Scara’s cold, synthetic skin. He doesn’t even flinch at the feeling, his eyes boring into Scara’s, and suddenly Scara regrets ever agreeing to this plan, but for very different reasons.

Sethos is currently Sumeru's most desirable bachelor, and it's getting harder to deal with every day, so he enlists the help of the most unsociable man in all of Sumeru to get people to leave him alone. By...suggesting they fake a relationship.

Summary
“Are we not also friends?” His brow is furrowed, and his mouth is shaped into a smile but it’s confused, like it wasn’t sure if it was supposed to be there but appeared as a default anyway. He stares at Scara, waiting for an answer, and Scara stares back, unable to give it. It seems to be the wrong choice again because after a moment, something in Sethos’ face falls, and the smile on his face becomes a little more forced, though it isn’t at all obvious. “Oh. I understand. Sorry, I guess I got a bit ahead of myself there, huh? Assuming we were friends like that.”
Scara doesn’t know how to tell him that Tighnari is different from him in the sense that Scara doesn’t think about the forest ranger at all in the same way he thinks about him. Scara doesn’t know how to tell him that there’s an ache, a want to be closer to him that isn’t present when he’s with Tighnari.
Scara doesn’t know how to speak, not around Sethos, so when Sethos turns away from him, still with that fake smile plastered on his face, Scara can do nothing to stop it.

“Is that so? Then I guess I’d better finish this up quickly. I missed it the last time you two played.” He picks up the crate again, letting out a small grunt of effort, and the sound makes Scara want to ball his fists for some reason, but he restrains himself. Then Sethos leans toward him, very narrowly avoiding the space Scara considered personal. “I’ll be rooting for you when I get back, Hat Guy.” He says it jokingly, but his voice drops lower as he nears him, almost lost to the chatter of the cafe, though Scara’s ears catch it easily and he pulls the brim of his hat down to try and escape showing the way it buzzes around in his mind pleasantly.
“Whatever.” He mutters lamely.

In which Scaramouche finds Sethos immensely attractive and he doesn't know what to do with himself, so he resorts to an unfailing(?) tactic: denial.
