“Kate Bishop!” Yelena beamed. She took a brief second to assess Kate's appearance. “You shouldn’t sleep so late, you know. It messes up your circadian rhythm.”
“I wasn’t sleeping,” Kate retorted, trying to ignore the embarrassed burn that was creeping over her face. She sorely wished she had chosen anything other than her ducky-print pyjamas for her Saturday attire. “I was just watching something.”
Yelena nodded. “Learning more cool hand-to-hand combat moves?”
“Yep,” Kate nodded coolly. “Just brushing up from YouTube in case I need to be ready.” She scrabbled to grab a loose coin from the shelf behind the door and flicked it over her shoulder towards her laptop - the coin hit the pause button, cutting off the incriminating sounds of the cartoon she’d been watching.
