After weeks of being held captive by Jabba and forced to fight in an arena for his amusement, Luke is called before the Hutt.
Jabba reveals that he has captured not only Luke, but all of his friends as well, and he plans to collect their bounties from Vader.
Unfortunately for Jabba, he didn't read Luke's bounty very carefully. Specifically not the "unharmed" part.
Vader is royally pissed at what Jabba has done to his son. And everyone in the galaxy knows what Vader does when he's angry.

She also knows that she has to do this. The Jedi order betrayed her, treated her like a criminal, ignored the years she had spent risking her life in defense of the Republic.
But she is frozen in place on this last step, feeling her master's gaze on her back, fighting between losing her whole world and doing what she thought was right.

Summary
A selfish part of Obi-Wan has always been grateful that the master is meant to die before the padawan. The parent is meant to die before the child.
It was a part of him that was fueled by his knowledge that he didn't want to live in a world without his padawan, didn't want to fight without Anakin beside him.
He was older. His time to leave this galaxy coming before Anakin's was probable. He knew it was wrong to be grateful for that, but he didn't know if he was strong enough to handle the grief Anakin's death would bring him.
The master would die before the padawan. That was just the natural order of things.
But Obi-Wan knows better than anyone that Anakin has never been one for following orders.
