Leon being late to the meeting isn't exactly an uncommon occurrence. The man couldn't navigate his way out of a paper bag, after all. Diantha, on the other hand? She should be here. She ISN'T here. And the reason WHY she isn't here goes well beyond any champion's normal jurisdiction. Iris is crashing on Cynthia's couch. Steven and Wallace are so gay they managed to break the Hoenn League. Hau has no idea what he's doing. Lance needs a nap even more than Cynthia does.
As for Cynthia herself? She's tired. Very much so. But she won't let that stop her. Sinnoh is her home. And Sinnoh won’t be the only region at stake in the end.

Hazy waterfalls, dragging clouds, the taste of the air only lingered on the back of his tongue with its thick and humid earthiness if he tried hard enough to remember it.
And yet, here he was stopped dead in the sand by the sight of dazzling red gliding through the water. A second-long glance was all it took to rip the memories from their pocket in the corner of his mind and slam them against his skull with unforgiving urgency.
