Summary
Shinsuke Saihara didn't know what he was expecting when Shuichi came home for the break. After the debacle with Ichirou Hashimoto, Shinsuke wouldn't be surprised if he came back shaky and broken. Even more quiet and hurt than before. If the time at Hope's Peak had done more harm than help. If it did, Shinsuke wasn't certain he could forgive himself. Still, he reserved his judgment until after Shuichi came home. Who knows? Perhaps things hadn't been quite so bad after all. Perhaps Hope's Peak had even managed to make everything... better.
The past is a coffee stain that clings to your shirt. It never goes away, not truly. But sometimes, it fades.
