“I’ll be there,” Oliver calls after him.
“Good!” Josh calls back.
Oliver can hear the smile in his voice
“That’s nice.”
The soft timber of his voice. The hesitation in his stride. Oliver turns and sees dark hair and a white t-shirt peeking out from the collar of his scrubs.
Dr. Markus.
“I’m sorry,” Oliver says, “what’s nice?”
“Oh, you know, usually around here I’m feeling spinal taps and migraines. It's nice to feel something different.” He shrugs. “Love.”Or, three times Oliver wants to tell Josh he loves him and one time he accidentally does.

“Yes, yes, of course, you’re right,” Wolf says hurriedly. “We’d just be up all night.”

Josh is only human. He hears his boyfriend suggest staying up all night and thinks of his king-sized bed with crisp sheets waiting for them upstairs, and the practically indecent curve of Wolf’s ass in those jeans, and the way the downlighting in his kitchen makes Wolf look so soft and inviting.
A fun evening between Nichols and Wolf takes a turn for the unexpected. They manage to make it work.
