Summary
The twins weren’t kidding when they said there would be a magical test in order to be sorted. They just didn’t specify what it was. Harry, along with the other children of his year, must take a magical test of strength before the teachers would even consider letting them get sorted. The only problem is, Harry doesn’t know magic. The most he can do is spit out sparkles. With the teachers and the rest of the school watching, will Harry manage to pass his test, or will he be expelled before he is even able to step foot in the castle? Summary
Around a young witch or wizard's eleventh birthday they acquire wings, a sign that they have developed their full magic. Many worship their new wings, but to Harry, it's just another sign that he is a freak. Severus Snape is assigned his guardian over the summer before Harry's first year. It is up to him to teach young Harry the ways of the wizarding world and to come to terms with his new found fame. James Potter never thought he’d find himself in a situation this bizarre, even by Marauder standards.
Desperate for a way to defeat Voldemort, James and the Order of the Phoenix performed an ancient ritual, summoning a powerful figure from another time and place. When the man arrived, James wasn’t sure if they’d gained an ally or unleashed another threat. But his son, Harry, took to the stranger instantly, fondly dubbing him “Mr. Snitch” after the man playfully adopted the name.
It was hard for James to reconcile Snitch’s gentleness with the sheer skill and power he commanded—power wielded so effortlessly that he spoke Voldemort’s name as if he did not know the concept of fear. And even through his guard, James couldn’t ignore how the stranger softened whenever he played with Harry, his voice almost aching with a quiet, unspoken longing when he spoke with James and Lily.
Who was this man, really? And why did James feel such a pull towards him, a deep warmth that seemed to defy logic? James was determined to uncover the truth, for the stranger felt like more than just an ally. He felt like a friend—like someone James had known for so long.

Sometimes even despite the possible consequences. But all of the time if they don't want to run forever they have to cope with those consequences.
This is one possible continuation of the three chapter sketch of a beginning I wrote a while back. I started it for NaNoWriMo last year and came suprisingly far.

Summary
After decades of abuse under Valentino, Angel forms a plan to escape. It all rides on convincing the famous gambling overlord, Husk, to make a bet for Angel's soul.
Husk knows appearances are everything as an overlord, so he conceals his true self behind his legendary poker face. When he meets Angel, he realizes he’s not the only one hiding behind a mask.
Husk agrees to save Angel from Valentino's clutches, but a regular soul contract just won’t do. Instead, Husk binds Angel's soul to him in demonic matrimony, convincing himself that a fake relationship will be good for publicity and keep his reputation intact.
Angel is pleased with his new arrangement, and his new husband, but Husk is determined to keep it as a business deal. His troubled past and morality quickly begin to clash with his desires, and Angel is nothing if not persistent in his pursuit of something more.
As Angel breaks down the walls of Husk's past to help him heal, and Husk stitches up Angel’s wounds, their bond begins to strengthen. Will it be enough to help them fend off the enemies that wish to sabotage their happy ending?
