Summary
His sister squints at him when Leo approaches the table. Trying to see through the spinning and flashing lights, the only illumination with the entire place dark. “Tired?” she mouths the word. People are little more than moving shadows around them and the music drowns out anything, so loud that it sends shockwaves to rattle his bones.
Leo swallows the stickiness in his mouth, feeling the click of his throat. It doesn’t help the dizziness, the aching heat shooting through him with each motion of his body, heart thudding hard and steady.
He can feel the dampness against his skin.

Summary
The wooden sign proclaiming Jade Hotel looms over Leo when he gets out of the car, and he stares at it for a moment, halted by the sight of five small black starts underneath the words.
(“We don’t—what if they suspect something?”
“Why would they suspect anything?”
Leo swallows thickly and ducks down his head; his eyes land at where his feet are misaligned from each other, the toe tips close together. Leo takes a sharp inhale, half-panicked when he hears the man approaching—then there’s a hand under his jaw, thumb on his chin, and Mr. Jacobs has his head moving back up. “Perhaps,” Mr. Jacobs says. “You’re worried they will hear something?”
Leo’s hands shake harder.)

Hundreds of eyes seem to pierce his skin anyway. As if the entire library were keeping a careful record of his every step as he entered one of the corridors. Judging. Yes, yes, Leonardo Oden was seen trying to be subtle in the exact sciences section. How pitiful.
He presses the open book to his chest and tries to breathe.

Summary
He doesn´t really notice the person moving behind him, more than used to the occasional touch on unfortunate places after years using public transportations.
So although the brush against his ass springs him back from his distraction, it´s not alarming by itself. He simply shifts a bit forward, imagining it´s someone adjusting in the cramped space. The touch goes away and he turns his attention back to the window.
