So fast he almost misses it, there’s a quirk at the corner of Sakusa’s lips, the barest hint of a smile, there and then gone again. He shifts in his seat, crossing and uncrossing his legs— fuck, his legs— and Atsumu swears up and down that when he settles, Sakusa is just a hair’s breadth closer to him.
“Miya,” he says, voice breathy and hoarse. Atsumu catches a hint of mint toothpaste and cheap vodka on the air, intoxicating. “What do you think I’m doing right now?”

“Fine,” he concedes, stepping aside to let Kiyoomi in. “But ‘m keepin’ the good pillow.”
“Of course,” Kiyoomi nods as he enters the room, quickly scanning it before setting his sights on the bed. “Thank you, Miya. I owe you for this.”
“Yeah ya do,” Atsumu says as he closes and locks the door, turning off the ceiling light before heading back to bed. He pauses as Kiyoomi settles on the edge of the small double bed, illuminated only by the soft glow of the bedside lamp. The golden light accentuates his sculpted profile and soft curls, making him look unfathomably handsome. Atsumu clenches his jaw and pulls his t-shirt down to hide the front of his boxers. Goddamnit.

Summary
Kiyoomi makes it three steps into the room before he’s frozen in place. “Oh,” he breathes out with a surprised exhale, taking in the change in Atsumu’s appearance.
It’s not the bags under his eyes that confuse Kiyoomi. It’s not the brightly colored athletic tape around his knee for support or even his paler than normal complexion from a lack of being outside the past month.
It’s his hair. Grown out and sloppily cut, the platinum blonde is completely gone.
Atsumu is on the bench for three months with a knee injury. He tells Kiyoomi that he's fine, but Atsumu's eyes and the fake smile plastered across his face tell the real story.
Kiyoomi thinks about the vast landscape of options that might help—then decides to start with his hair.
