One seemingly normal day, Five drops his torch and jumps down onto the rails in the subway station. He finds a notebook that will change the course of his and Lila’s lives.
Yet the strangest part isn’t the notebook’s cryptic diagrams or the explanation of the routes through the subway—it’s the unmistakable fact that the handwriting inside is his own. How could his writing end up in a battered old version of his notebook, left in a place only he would stumble upon?
This is the story of that book, and the price of their way home.
