    Summary

Everything about Agatha is fascinating—and it really shouldn’t be, considering the fact that Death has borne witness to countless lives across time from beginning to end. But there’s something rich and raw in the way that Agatha moves through the world, a heady, almost carnal enjoyment filling every indulgent aspect of life that she chooses to engage in. Even in the most mundane moments, Agatha’s enthralling.

Death can’t look away from her.

Agatha sits at a tavern and slyly flirts with the innkeeper’s daughter over a tankard of ale and a plate of carrot and potato stew—Death is a literal fly on the fucking wall.

Agatha lures a witch—or two, or three—off into the woods and goads them into attacking her? Death arrives early to watch the show.

Agatha goes to bathe in a nearby river, dark hair loosed from its typical braid, body glistening wetly, showcasing every minute movement of muscle beneath her soft, supple skin—well.

All of a sudden, Death is fixated on the day-to-day details of mortal existence.

    Agatha, Agatha, Agatha.

If Death had a heart, it would probably beat itself in the triplicate rhythm of her name.

    Summary

‘It’s you, isn’t it?’ she asks.

Death nods, leaning closer, drawn in by the magnetic energy Agatha exudes, the very thing he’s been drawn to since the start.

‘You got yourself a body,’ she remarks, impressed.

Death flushes. The heat rising to his cheeks feels a little like standing in front of a burning fire.

‘Do you like it?’ Death asks, rocking on his heels.

Agatha narrows her eyes, giving him a once-over.

‘Hmm,’ she muses. Then she beckons him closer with a curled finger.

Death goes happily, his pulse picking up. His pulse!

Agatha makes a show of bringing her palm up to whisper in his ear.

‘Let me give you a clue,’ she breathes into Death’s ear, making his spine stiffen.

    A pause.

    ‘I don’t like boys.’

Death stumbles backward, cheeks red again. His chest feels tight, and all at once, he wants to escape her.

Agatha smirks at him, already turning back to her book.

    ‘Nice try.’

“Do not,” Agatha said to herself from her spot in the media booth, “you absolutely do not need to defend your honor against-”

    Rio dropped her gloves.

    “God fucking damn it.”

The Sharks’ forward had barely gotten her own gloves off before Rio’s fist connected with her jaw. The crowd erupted.

“I am going to kill her,” Agatha announced to no one in particular, already mentally drafting press releases. “Should’ve kept managing curling teams. Nobody ever gets punched in curling.”

    Summary

When music producer Agatha Harkness gets stuck in an airport due to a hurricane warning, her only option is to hole up in a local hotel to wait out the bad weather. Fortunately, they have one last room available.

A room with only one bed that she'll have to share with her assistant, Rio Vidal.

With six years of history and unacknowledged feelings between them, the storm outside may not be the only one brewing.

And Agatha might just find herself in the very eye of it.
