Summary
"Now both of them were trapped somewhere in space and time, possibly entombed together, a time machine’s corpse and a young Time-Lord girl."
A young Time Lord called Scout escapes from Gallifrey before the end of the war. With no knowledge of what happened to her people, she runs into the Doctor. Cautious of the consequences of her running away from the war, she sets off on an adventure with the Doctor under the guise of being a human companion.
The act can't last forever though, and Scout soon finds herself with difficult choices to make regarding the fate of her species, her relationship with the Doctor and one Rose Tyler, and her desire for freedom.

She paused as she considered every bite, sometimes halving it, like she worried about taking too much though none of her bites could be considered anything but diminutive. She chewed thoroughly, vigorously, always with her fingers pressed to her lips to shield herself. She savored, letting out quiet little sounds of appreciation.
“Is that thyme?” she asked suddenly.
“It is.” He was surprised she could detect it. He had used the barest sprinkling, just enough to tame the bitterness of the onions.

Obi-Wan took a deep breath and did his best to press the anxiety he was feeling away. His hands were steady as he adjusted the settings of the communcation set-up of the small vessel he was currently piloting. He purposefully set the comm to audio only on his side. He hadn't been a padawan for long, but if there was one thing he'd learned during his missions with Master Jinn, it was that it was rare for anyone, especially politicians, to take a padawan seriously.
He assumed the same held true for the leader of an enemy empire.
