Ace was not always Ace.
He remembers a past life where he was someone different. It could have been an eternity ago, but frankly enough, growing up in a world where he's stuck on an island made him wonder if he should try at all. Years later he would try to find a question for the meaning of his life.
It's still funny how things go full circle. He just hopes everyone else will think that his brand of dark humor is funny.

It was a lie they did–pretending that everything was still the same. It would never be the same for Ralph.
Not after the island. Not after everything.
He shook the overwhelming but looming thought off, biting his lip irritably.
Ralph leaped out of the car with a swoosh, not waiting for his dad’s sigh. He gripped the straps of his backpack and stared at the board in front of him.
Ralph touched the shell necklace around his throat and felt his hands tighten around the beads. His nails were chewed, a nervous habit that spontaneously came back over the summer.
Welcome to Gotham Middle School, it read.
Ralph gets rescued from the island and ends up going to Gotham Middle School. He's supposed to be fine. He got out, right?
(He just couldn't stop thinking of the island long after he escaped it. But for him, Bernard and Tim are going to be there for Ralph.)

Summary
"I'm your mother," she hears a whisper from above coo, "My little Robin."
Her heart aches at the kindness, but the hurt overwhelmed it. It shuts her out from the surrounding, leaving misery to brew inside her.
For days, weeks, months she stared blankly at her own reflection. A boy stared back at her. She scanned blankly over the mirror's features, not recognizing herself.
It's quite simple. This was never meant to be.
Jinx thinks Silco would be proud of the empire she created, fear spread all across Pilt-over. They had gotten the ending they desired, leaving the rest to ashes.
Then she wakes up, in a body unlike her own. Her mind felt out of place for months. She wants nothing to do with "her parents" thinking of her as Dick Grayson. (She was Jinx, and always has been.)
In which Jinx-as-Dick gets a chance to start again, grows up with the Flying Grayson's, and relearns what it means to be a family.

Summary
Jason Todd was born in Crime Alley. He later became the Second Robin after being adopted by Bruce.
In another life, he was left alone after Catherine died to fend off the streets. But with small changes, it leads to a different future.
(Carsten wonders how big of a change he impacted onto Jason's life. If what he tried had any meaning.)
This time Jason grows up with a friend both didn't expect. Carsten Tell thinks it started off as a pity project, but grew into a deeper bond of trust, molding in something they needed at the moment.
Strap in losers, for a angst/fluff ride!
This is a fanfic taking place pre-cannon to Jason being Red Hood, and instead just a young kid Jason surviving Crime Alley alone to take care of his mom, Catherine.
(Self-Insert Original Character as Jason's childhood friend, sticking with him through their past.)

Summary
Jack Drake loves his wife and son, even if they're giant, fire breathing reptiles that would rather eat the mailman than pick up a package. That's fine, he can deal. It'd just be nice if they weren't so territorial. Then they could actually be on the same continent without trying to kill each other. Oh well, every family has their challenges. The Drakes' just happen to be more homicidal than most.
Feat. Dragon Tim and Janet's loving (but murderous) relationship, Jack's ongoing attempts to be a good dad, and the Waynes getting increasingly concerned about Tim's home life after he becomes Robin.
