“’Don’t forget the fresh spinach, Stiles’” Stiles grumbled under his breath, adding a bottle of milk to his cart. “When have I ever forgotten the fresh spinach? Ever? Never, that is.” He huffed, throwing in some butter with a bit more force than strictly necessary. He couldn’t believe that Peter had the audacity to imply that Stiles would forget something as essential as fresh spinach. What did he think Stiles was? An animal?

Laura didn't hesitate to barge into Cora's room. Her sister woke up with a gasp and glowing eyes, ready to shout at Laura like the teenage brat she was.
“What the f-“
“Did you know that Stiles was kissed by a mermaid? And that Peter takes care of injured unicorn foals in his spare time?” She interrupted Cora, having no patience for grumpy teenagers right now.
Her sister’s mouth dropped open and she rubbed a hand over her face. “Wait, what?”
“You heard me. Peter takes care of injured mystical creatures in his spare time and Stiles has been kissed by a mermaid.” Laura repeated, watching how her sister’s world view shifted just like her own had. At least she wasn’t alone in this anymore.-
Or: Laura just wanted a few days to relax at the beach, soak up the sun, enjoy the ocean breeze in her hair and the salt on her lips. It was supposed to be a relaxing holiday without any trouble. And it was... until Uncle Peter showed up in a speedo.

He didn’t long to hear the sound of small feet running around the house, calling him Daddy or Papa and demanding to get ice cream for dinner or not having to go to kindergarten because it was stupid.

Peter ignored the fact that the demon’s heartbeat jumped slightly, giving away the obvious lie. So there had been poison…

“I’m fine,” Derek repeats. “I’m not taking you to court, don’t worry about it.”
That’d be a great case. Look, your honor! Mr. Stilinski’s dog viciously tore my hand open. There’s no scar or stitches or hospital records or photos to prove it, but he did, I swear! Yeah, no. Besides, Derek had been the one to pet the dog, which probably wasn’t his best idea, even if it was domesticated.
“It doesn’t even hurt that much,” he adds. “I’ll be alright.”
“That’s an awesome sentiment and all, and you rock, but you say that till you see the hospital bill. Those people are crooks, I swear. And it doesn’t hurt? That’s the shock talking. Even big tough manly men can get infections, dude. We need to go to the hospital, like, now.”
