“How long have you known that it was me?” Her heart was thrumming in her chest like pixie wings.
His body tensed again. For a moment, Hermione thought that this would be it and he would turn around to run back to the castle to pretend that she didn’t exist, but then he opened his eyes and his gaze met hers.
“Third year.” The words were barely a whisper and Hermione inhaled sharply.
Third year?
As if sensing his disbelief, he quickly continued: “I didn’t know how serious it was until sixth, when Slughorn showed us the potion. I lingered after class, waited until everybody had left and smelled it.”
“Why?”
Malfoy shrugged softly.
“I wanted to find out if I was still capable of love.”

Never, that is.” He huffed, throwing in some butter with a bit more force than strictly necessary. He couldn’t believe that Peter had the audacity to imply that Stiles would forget something as essential as fresh spinach. What did he think Stiles was? An animal?

Summary
Jaskier was the second most popular whore in all of Oxenfurt because his attention wasn’t an act; Jaskier fell in love easily and with almost everyone around him. He fell out of love just as quickly, which was a blessing because even a bard can only take so much heartbreak, but just a smile, a word, a glance or even a gesture and he was hopelessly in love. He loved almost all his customers earnestly and they always left with a spring in their step, a pleased blush on their cheeks or a small, secretive smile on kiss swollen lips.
He was authentic. Who knew that it would be his personality and not his species that would draw Witchers to him like moths to a flame?

A last, violent cough dislodged the foreign thing stuck in his throat and he spat it out, falling onto his back as he was breathing heavily. Black spots were dancing in front of his eyes, his head was spinning and his body trembling. Tears were rolling down his taunt cheeks and blood tickled from his lips.
When he turned his head, he spotted a singular flower petal.
More particular, a rose petal.
One single, white rose petal. Stained with blood.

“There,” Warm fingers lingered on his skin “good as new.” The cat sounded satisfied, golden eyes molten when they met Lambert’s.
“You didn’t have to do that.” The wolf grumbled quietly but the other man merely snorted.
“I didn’t, but I wanted to. Can’t blame a cat for wanting to get his hands on such a handsome man, though.” He winked at Lambert whose mouth went dry. Luckily the other Witcher continued before Lambert could do something ridiculous, like blushing or getting flustered. “And I was hoping that you would tell me your name, now that we know each other better. Somehow I doubt you’ll be happy if I were to call you ‘pretty wolf’ all the time.”

Or: How Lambert -who's very much in tune with his own emotions, thank you very much- realizes that he deserves all the love in the world, and finds his way into the arms of a persistent cat with the help of one very chatty bard.

That’d be a great case. Look, your honor! Mr. Stilinski’s dog viciously tore my hand open. There’s no scar or stitches or hospital records or photos to prove it, but he did, I swear! Yeah, no. Besides, Derek had been the one to pet the dog, which probably wasn’t his best idea, even if it was domesticated.
“It doesn’t even hurt that much,” he adds. “I’ll be alright.”
“That’s an awesome sentiment and all, and you rock, but you say that till you see the hospital bill. Those people are crooks, I swear. And it doesn’t hurt? That’s the shock talking. Even big tough manly men can get infections, dude. We need to go to the hospital, like, now.”
