Summary
A tall slim man, adorned in a gorgeous purple two-piece suit sat up late, witching hour, reading from a dust covered novel. Blood red eyes, spark-less, and yet shimmering by the light of the moon. As he read, he would periodically raise a glass full of what must have been red wine to his bright lips, contrasted by his ever-pale skin.
The library in which he sat was the largest room in his larger still mansion, buried deep in the forest, dreading any possible human contact. Bookcases lined the walls yet still their contents longed to be free, to fall to the unpolished wooden floor below.
The only things visible from the windows were trees, gravelled roads and the mountains that bordered the valley in which he resided. In the unseen distance, a quiet town sat, quiet for its contents had fled years prior as the rate of fires rose. He had heard about the fires, of course, even with the distance. How odd for a town with previously low crime rate to become one of the most dangerous places in Ireland in just a matter of months.
