Summary
Caitlyn loses herself in her quest for revenge. Without Vi to steady her, she gives herself over to the fight and the darkness, following Ambessa's advice and seeking distraction in Maddie. After months of occupation of Zaun with nothing to show for it, Caitlyn finds herself at the end of her tether. Something has to give, she needs to feel alive again. Going into Zaun alone at night, seeking out the lowest and most dangerous places seems to be the only thing that works. When she sees Vi fighting in the pits of the undercity, a series of events is kicked into motion that the commander has no means of stopping. Her journey takes her through the darkness to face her demons, as well as the woman she'd tried to cast from her life but simply can't forget about.

Vi pauses a moment. It seems like an obviously bad idea, but she asks anyway. “Your place?”
Caitlyn grimaces, shakes her head, “That’s the second place they’d look.”
“I’ll save us both the trouble of listening to me offer more suggestions you’ll inevitably shoot down,” Vi says acidly, a brief petty thrill at Caitlyn’s answering scowl. “Something tells me you have an idea already.”
Wincing, Caitlyn blows out a long breath. “I might know somewhere.”

After the attack on the commune, Vi and Caitlyn need somewhere to lay low before they make their next move.

Summary
Vi's life has gone to shit after she has lost everything and anyone she ever cared about. With nothing much to live for, she seeks solace at the bottom of a bottle, pitfighting in the lowest reaches of Zaun - all to drown out her yearning for the woman who has broken her heart. Getting over Caitlyn would surely prove a lot easier if the newly appointed General of Piltover didn't keep seeking her out in the dead of night.
