Six years and 248 days had passed. Six years since everyone told him to move on. After all, Owen was known for abandoning things, what made his relationship with Riley any different?
Owen was the boy who'd brightened (and saved) Riley's miserable life.
Owen was nowhere to be found, and for almost seven years, that had remained to be the fact. Riley had lost his friend in place there is little hope to find him.

Poseidon was often called the father of monsters and even when he loathed to admit it, the name was apt.
So when Perseus was born, Poseidon was prepared for the worst, another head, three times too many fingers, whatever it was, he would love it and try to protect it.
Imagine his surprise when somehow, Percy came out with ten fingers and ten toes, perfectly normal looking and with a powerful lung. Of course, he’d had demigod children in the past, but it didn’t happen often for him to be graced with a real child.
Who could then blame him, when he watched Perseus closely growing up, chest swollen with pride because he was perfect? Perfect like Triton, his heir, and so funny. It felt only natural to claim Perseus as his, the first opportunity he got, he was so proud to be able to present such a courageous and normal child.
