Jax's job was split in two fold. One was to explore and finds aliens to bring back to base laboratories. The other was to do the dirty work that the scientists back on the base labs didn't want to do. AKA, sexual exploration.
And this alien was no different. Although, labs may need a different alien to study. Because the one Jax picked up was just too cute.
