Tommy's mother works in a lab. She and her coworkers work on researching hybrids. No one knows where they came from or why, but humanity wanted to know as much as possible about them and not for good reasons.
One day, 8 year old Tommy had a sudden fever and his mother, not being able to find a babysitter or take off work, takes him with her. That day just so happens to be the day the hybrids planned to break out and have no mercy on anyone in their way...

One day, a mysterious box lands on Philza's doorstep labeled "Caution: May Bite". Philza takes it in, unknowing that there was something living in that box in which would change his family's lives forever.

In this fanfic, they are hybrids or whatever their characters are. Philza is an avian. Techno is half piglin. Wilbur is techno's twin in this, but he is still human ig. Tommy is human from what we know...... so far...
Also, I originally posted this on wattpad a little while ago, so not only is it not the best, but it also has a lot of errors I'm trying fix before posting. So please just bare with me on this 😅

Tommy swallows hard. “Please, Mr Watson?”

He is a teacher's aide at L'manburg elementary school. His friend Tubbo is a college student and his other friend Ranboo is a hero intern. He loves what he does and he is good at it too. His life is simple, he, his two roommates, and their simple life in the 6th district. What more could he want from life? Everything is perfect!
Minus the fact one of them is a hero, one is a vigilante, the other works for the black market and their life isn't simple, like, at all. Oh did he mention he is being hunted down by the heroes? One of his best friends was included in that list.

Summary
Tommy had suffered on and off throughout his life from hanahaki, which sort of happens to someone who trusts too much and always gets their hopes crushed. He just wants someone to actually care about him, but he knows he's not going to get that, especially not with Dream and not with how the disease has been getting worse.
Dying and defeated, Tommy's only solace comes in the form of weird eldritch singing emanating from the forest outside his window. He knows that whatever it is will likely be a cannibalistic cryptid from his worst nightmares, but somehow he can't find it in himself to care. Any death will be better than suffocating alone.
Or
Tommy is on a quest to get killed by unknown monsters instead of the ones he does know. This is somehow more difficult than it should be.
