‘You’re not late, I knew it was a crappy day and you’d stop at the bar.’ Shawn came out of the kitchen, smirking. ‘Psychic, remember?’ but his words trailed off, and he looked at Carlton with wide eyes.
‘What?’
Shawn moved to him suddenly, and for some reason started to sniff him, starting at his neck and shoulders, then moving downwards.
‘What the hell - wait, are you growling?’
Shawn stood up suddenly, and his mouth suddenly seemed too full of teeth. ‘You smell wrong.’
‘What, bad?’ Carlton replied, taking a step back.
‘No!’ Shawn clenched his fists at his sides. ‘You smell wrong. It’s… like a non-smell. Like, being on a beach but not hearing the waves.’ He started to pace. ‘It’s wrong, I don’t like it.’
Carlton kept his voice calm, even if he was worried. ‘Shawn, it’s okay, I’m going to shower and then we’ll-’
He was interrupted by Shawn pushing into him suddenly and kissing him. It was violently passionate, and Carlton (perhaps against his better instincts) melted into the kiss. Shawn’s hands moved over him while he was distracted, shoving off his jacket and undoing his shirt.

‘Did part of you,’ began Gus as they were walking away from the taco stand, his voice nervous, not meeting Shawn’s eyes, ‘I mean, a small part, even for a second, think maybe Gimbley had been right?’
Shawn answered, ‘What, about actually being a werewolf?’, though it was through a mouthful of delicious tortilla, so it came out as ‘mrrph, munph, schmemulf?’ but luckily Gus was fluent in Shawn-speaking-with-food.
