Tim had known exactly what was happening but it wasn’t like he could tell anyone about it, he wasn’t going to ruin Cass’ showcase just because he was feeling just a little bit off.
Sure, Alfred’s usually delectable dinner had smelled terrible and somehow tasted worse, Tim’s stomach rolling with every bite, but when Bruce met his eye Tim had just smiled and asked for more information about the story Bruce had been telling.
And sure, the car ride was complete hell, with all the headlights blaring right in his face but there was no way he was going to give up on the prized front seat, not when he had fought tooth and nail for it.
And yeah, Tim’s head had been spinning as they were guided to their seats, the orchestra’s practice thrumming like a jack hammer in his head, but it was fine.
He had known that judging from the time that the symptoms had begun, he’d be able to just put up with it long enough to do everything he needed to do for the night. Then, and only then, he would be able to crash onto his bed, put noise canceling headphones on, cover his head in his covers and let himself become a sobbing mess as the agony truely took over.

"A story," Bruce repeated as neutrally as possible, but he knew Jason would be able to tell that he was bewildered. All his children were as attuned to his emotions as he was to theirs.
"Yeah," Jason said and when Bruce looked at him again, there was a dark, cheeky grin growing on his face. "I think you deserve to hear it."
"...If you think so."
