In the middle of the hallway, Smitty began brushing the snowflakes from John's hair before they could begin to melt and dampen his curls. He'd left his cap in the car, and between pulling into the driveway and the front door, a large quantity of snow had gathered on his head. Smitty was wearing his beanie, so his hair would be mostly dry, apart from the few strands of hair that stuck out from underneath.

John smiled up at him, and just watched him for a moment. “I'm so in love with you.”
Smitty chuckled, and ruffled John's already mussed up bed hair. “Okay, freak. Goodbye, John,” he said, standing up to leave.
John collapsed back into the comfort, grabbing Smitty's pillow and holding it over his face. He inhaled long and deep, the faint scent of Smitty's shampoo consuming his senses, eyes falling shut and ready to sleep again, before mumbling into the soft material, “Safe travels, lover.” And promptly slipped back into unconsciousness.

'Holes' has been my comfort movie since I first watched it back in Year 5 (which was around 2015/16) and I've seen this it like 40 times. And only now have I decided to write a fanfiction or two about it.
The title is taken from the One Direction song 'Home' :)

The parents of all Party members decide the kids need a break. So, the kids bring that information to Steve. And here they are, spending an entire week at Steve's house despite his protests. Steve is forced to dismiss some feelings, but the kids make it increasingly difficult by the day.
At least there are two reasonable people in the house - neither of them is Steve or Dustin, believe it or not.
