In retrospect, Grian should have known that he was being foolish, because the Universe loves to see him suffer.
So, as he sits in a pale and desolate stretch of sand rather than a lush field of endless flowers, he can’t help but feel angry at his own naivety.
He can still feel the phantom sensations of limbs wrapping comfortingly around his torso and the lingering warmth of a hug that was never really there dance across his skin.
The Universe, Grian thinks as he watches the sun rise over a desolate world, is a cruel thing.
The grass is green, the sky is blue, and the Universe is cruel.
Those are the facts.
Or, grian suffers at the hands of the watchers a happy ending :D

"You don't know what you're talking about," Suguru says dismissively, his voice laced with quiet indifference and a hint of irritation. The deliberate clink of books and pens echoes in the stillness, a subtle reminder of the distance he’s putting between them. His gaze flickers toward Satoru. “And get off my desk.”
Satoru’s lips curl into a smug smile as he rolls his tongue over the lollipop hanging lazily from his mouth. Unbothered, his eyes sparkle with mischief. "Or what, Professor?"
OR
It started out as a game, just something for Satoru to pass the time in lectures so as not to go insane. Really, that's all it was. How the hell it managed to erupt and morph into this, Satoru has no idea.

Satoru takes another step forwards, arms spreading wide in excitement, “Yūji-kun! You’re here!”
“Oh my God,” the child repeats breathlessly, sounding far older than any child his age should sound, unable to tear his eyes away from Satoru. The boy shakes faintly, shock maybe, words a shaky exhale, “it’s really- you’re- you look- this is— oh my God!”
Annnnd there’s really no doubting it now.
Clearly those vivid dreams of war, imprisonment and eleven years of growing up is not the dream Satoru had thought it to be since waking up in the infirmary as a seventeen-year-old student, way back before the source of all his problems defected from Jujutsu society.
