Rather than letting her phone interrupt their moment, Chloe chooses to let it ring.

After Chloe breaks up with her boyfriend, she goes to the one place, and person, she feels most comfortable. Lucifer and Chloe talk, and end up on the same page finally. Chloe's ex isn't pleased about the development.

Summary
The Detective turns to him once her spawn is out of the room, looking uncertain but hopeful. Shy, even. “I, um, need to tuck her in, but… Can you stay a little while?”
He should probably say no, that there’s something pressing at Lux to tend to; he could probably even have Patrick fabricate a situation. But, of course, he doesn’t; he doesn’t lie, especially not to her. Besides, he would be a fool of the highest regard to turn down the chance to spend even another minute more with her.
“Of course, Detective,” he says quietly. “Nowhere I’d rather be.”
After game night, Chloe convinces Lucifer to stay.

Summary
Lucifer had always prided himself on being fairly good at predicting things, but as he stared down at the fallen angel before him, he reconsidered that. This was something he never could have possibly seen coming. It was out of character - it was stooping to the lowest of the low, to ask the devil you'd tried to kill a thousand times over for help. So yes, if you asked him, Lucifer really hadn't been expecting his twin brother - who was supposed to be wingless after the battle for the throne of Heaven - to come crashing through his penthouse window in the middle of the night, and then pass out on the floor crying. And he really hadn't expected to see two horned wings protruding from his brother's back, the color matching the blood running down his back.
(As it turns out, Lucifer isn't the only twin with a little self-hatred. And when you're a self-actualizing celestial being, self hatred can be a little bit more than inconvenient emotions.)
