Shikamaru spends his free time trying to canoodle Sakura into his bed, to persuade her into giving up her attachment to Sasuke for someone who would give Sakura all the attention and kindness she deserves. Finding himself at the crosshairs of attention from one Hatake Kakashi, a poor place to be indeed.
No one will listen to Sakura's concerns, her cares or worries, pushing her to sacrifice more and more of herself in the pursuit of her efforts to save her team as the world inches closer and closer to the war to end all wars. Leaving her half-amnesiac and trapped in Konoha, when it falls to the might of the Akatsuki.
