    The elevator makes another ominous moaning sound, and Adora has the audacity to suddenly close the small distance between them to press into Catra's side.

    “Was that a ghost?” she says.

     


    “There’s no such thing as ghosts, Adora,” Catra says, grateful the dark hides her blush at their sudden proximity.

     


    “Are you sure?” she says in a panicked whisper. “Do you remember that ghost story Weaver used to tell us about the weeping princess? Because I definitely heard crying earlier…”

     


    “It’s the university library during midterms, crying is normal,” Catra says.

    They wanted to see if the portal left a pocket dimension behind that they could possibly mount a rescue from, but when you try to invent scientific theory as you go, there’s a lot of room for error. They overshoot anything near their own world and end up dimension-hopping instead. The new dimension has weird similarities to their own and also none at all, but now they have to coordinate with the members of the “Great Rebellion” and an actual Princess version of Adora to get home.
