When Suguru disappeared after Satoru's family found out their "perfect" son was dating a boy, Satoru fully believed he'd never see the only person he ever loved again. So when he walks into a bar years later and sees Suguru staring back at him across the room, Satoru is overjoyed. Both men want to just pick up where they left off, but it doesn't take long for Satoru to realize that something is very, very wrong.

Satoru turns slowly.

Yuuta trembles.
This body is too big for him. Too strong for him. Yuuta is big and strong in his own way, but this? This is impossible. The weight on his shoulders is devastating. Like Sisyphus, he tries — and fails — to push the boulder up that cursed hill. His punishment for cheating death, for surviving a hit not even the strongest of them could survive. Stuck in purgatory for the rest of his life, forced to carry a legend that should have died the day his sun stopped burning and his moon fell from the sky.
“I blew a hole through the head of the man I loved,” Satoru’s apparition continues, “and it meant… nothing.”
