Summary
Astarion found himself watching Gale more than he was watching Dirty Dancing. He looked quite young to be getting divorced, he thought to himself. The gossip in him was dying to know the full story, but he knew full well that it would be really stupid to start prying into a practical stranger’s personal life.
As he was about to ask, because fuck it, he was probably never seeing this man again, Gale reached below his seat and grabbed a notebook and pen from a satchel. A satchel. The man was going on what amounted to a mid life crisis of a holiday (or, to be fairer to him, a third of a life crisis, because he looked to be about Astarion’s age), and he’d brought a satchel?!
**
Lawyer Astarion Ancunín had a chance encounter with film professor Gale Dekarios on a flight to New York. And then another chance encounter at a bar. And when he found out he’s in the middle of a messy divorce, well, what was Astarion to do? Aside from sleep with him, which was obviously a given.
Astarion didn’t believe in love stories. But life had accidentally thrown him into one of his own.

Summary
After finally gaining his freedom, Astarion took Gale to visit his grave. Unfortunately, upon discovering that he did in fact have a surname, Gale decided that the occasion would be the perfect opportunity to hyperfixate over an accent mark.

Summary
On the way back from the farmers’ market, Gale agrees to give a lift to a passing hitchhiker - a member of the local anarcho-communist commune, formed from the failed cult of Cazador Szarr, fleeing as the commune is raided. But hiding him from the law results in a surprising reward.

Summary
Kara could tell the reticent cleric would rather they leave the mysterious hand to their own fate, but Kara was never very good at leaving things be. Mostly because she wished someone had come to her own rescue unprompted over the years.
Still, she thought, she couldn’t pass up the opportunity to try and make her laugh. Kara was relishing actually speaking to someone outside of her staff for the first time in years. The problem was, Shadowheart did not seem to want to engage at all. Kara was determined to change that.
Turning to look Shadowheart in the eye with a grin, Kara slapped the hand in a high five.
—
In which Kara tries to come to terms with being kidnapped, the impending doom of ceremorphosis, the very present doom of becoming a leader, and rescues a wizard along the way. A wizard who then insists on cooking dinner.

Summary
Gale unexpectedly dies in a fight, and Astarion will do anything to get him back. Luckily, Gale’s simulacrum is there to help.
OR
After Gale comes back to life, he gets cucked by his simulacrum.
-
“You almost had it. Its name is K’ha’ssji’trach’ash,” the simulacrum explains, saying the word slowly. “The last part is in the back of the throat.”“If you don’t shut up, I’ll shove something to the back of your throat,” Astarion snaps back.
The simulacrum looks him up and down. “I’m not supposed to do that without Gale present, but I imagine he would indulge you if you ask nicely. I am anatomically accurate if you are wondering.”
Astarion is about to lose his gods damn mind. Gale’s dead, his simulacrum is talking about threesomes, and some fucking Mephit refuses to cooperate.

Summary
Gale casually added at the tail end of their laugh, “Old habits die hard.” He sipped from his glass, eyes briefly meeting Astarion's.
Amos scoffed but whether it was from irritation or genuine amusement at his boyfriend’s attempt to address the elephant in the room, Astarion couldn’t quite tell. The elf offered Tav a faint, apologetic smile as he turned to scratch the back of his neck.
She took a steadying breath and, with the kind of directness Astarion admired, she asked candidly, “Sorry to be blunt, but... you two used to date?”
Or: Astarion encounters Gale a year after their breakup at a reunion, only to find him with someone new. As Astarion struggles to move on, he can't help but feel the pull of their past, especially when Gale seems intent on reconnecting.
Can Astarion truly let go, or is there still a spark between them?

Summary
“Well, Marigold Tav, you are under no obligation to agree to this request, but if you’re up for it, I’d love to spend some time picking your brain about your creative process when it comes to building these walls. And about the sport in general, what brought you to it, what keeps you coming back…”
Marigold cocks her head. “So you are writing an article about it?”
He gives her another shrug. “I might,” he allows. “I follow what fascinates me.”Gale Dekarios, despite being an award-winning journalist for the Sword Coast Sentinel, is not having a good year. His career has blown up in his face, the burnout from working so relentlessly for so many years has finally caught up to him, and now he's been banished to Baldur's Gate to cover the Summer Olympics—something he has absolutely no experience or interest in.
But then he meets Marigold Tav, a retired sport climber with a pretty smile, and he finds himself rather... fascinated.
There's only a week left in this year's Olympic Games, but as a seasoned reporter, Gale knows better than anyone: a lot can happen in a week.
