“Yet again I lose on this day.”
His words, spoken barely above a whisper, were cold, and his eyes turned empty as if they had never held light in them. He wasn’t looking at them, but somewhere else; through them. Elrond could almost feel the darkness, the hopelessness residing in his guardian’s heart. It was not darkness created by the Enemy, but a bottomless void borne from losing the one you love.
This continues from the previous story "Before It Faded Away" but can be read as a standalone.
Contains broken Maedhros and cruel Maglor and cute Elrond and Elros.
