Something happens in Dys’s chest in that moment - it feels like someone’s opened his ribs and shoved their fist inside, squeezing his lungs so tightly that he can't even attempt a breath. If he felt flushed from resentment before, it's nothing compared to now. Maybe Marz isn't a jealous person, but Dys is.

I am too damn cold for this shit, Link thought. He stared down from the rock outcrop where he was perched. The sky was a pale gray, threatening rain or sleet if the temperature dropped any further. He could already feel icy flecks of spray misting down on him. He was out in the middle of nowhere in a desolate rocky barren canyon. A place so foreboding that even the birds looked miserable and they were the only animals he'd seen in days. He should have been alone out here.
