In this AU Claudia and Madeleine have been casted as Elphaba and Glinda in Wicked. During one of their interviews, Claudia is watching a home video of her 5 year old self and Lestat singing and comes to the realization that she misses her estranged father.

The video played and Claudia immediately knew which one it was. Almost as if it was filmed yesterday instead of twenty-two years ago. The video showcased a young Claudia in a purple silk sleep dress and her curls wild and free. The way it was always styled when Lestat was in charge of doing her hair that day. Lestat was in a purple silk sleep set of his own. Just by the setting she knew it was a Saturday morning. Lestat’s deep baritone voice starts singing the lyrics of “I’m Not That Girl” which used to be Claudia's favorite song- it still was.

Summary
James hates seeing the way his parents struggle.
Grace and Levi Johnson were strong people but this economy has really hit everyone hard. He's afraid of what will become of their family. If given permission he'd have quit school and started working already. His concern turns to disappointment when the teen learns that apparently they have a rich uncle his mother refuses to contact for help. From what he can tell the man was cut off for a reason he can relate too. Guess they were right that... sexual deviance runs in the family.
Well... if she won't swallow her pride then James will and write his uncle himself.
Louis, who's glad to have any of his family back in his life in any way, is glad to answer his letter. Lestat and Claudia are as supportive as they can be.
Note: In this canon Louis, Lestat, and Claudia family fell apart but they were able to actually get back to a healthy association. Well... healthy for them. No one so miserable they want to kill the others.

A summer of playing harmless pranks on your dad's new boyfriend (Armand) and his culty theatre company, newfound sisterhood, reuniting with long-lost fathers, and scheming. So much scheming.
