Summary
The first time Roy really, actually, truly notices it, is when Jamie forgets the birthday party that he had made them throw for Tim, the kit man. He had noticed that the boy was struggling, trying to balance his well-paying but hard job with his pursuit of a psych degree. Jamie thought that he could do with some cheering up. The party was fun, mainly because it had vividly reminded Roy of the shit they had gotten up too when Ted was the gaffer. Jamie had sat in front of his cubby grinning like a fool as the twenty year olds that made up the bulk of the team carried their nineteen year old kit man on their shoulders.
A week later Jamie smiles at him from across their breakfast and says “We should really do something for Tim’s birthday.”
