“Did you bring it?" He murmured softly to her.
Sam subtly lifted the hem of her shirt, revealing the hilt of the knife tucked in the waistband of her jeans. The sheath itched against her skin. A minor inconvenience, but not for much longer.
"Good girl," he breathed against her ear so quietly, she thought maybe she imagined it.
Sam helps Billy break out of prison. Then she gets what she wants.

Her eyes flew open and she whipped out the knife from under her pillow. But instead of being dispelled to the recesses of her mind, his hand clapped over hers, squeezing her hand tighter around the handle.
“Sloppy,” he chided, “A nap here? Really? It’s like you’re asking for the killer to come slice you up.”
