Summary
Jyn Erso was clearly way in over her head when she volunteered to step up and do a job that literally wasn't in her job description. It seemed like a good idea at the time, wanting to climb the industry ladder, but with a whopping two-hundred and twenty-three shots to color correct in only three days, it quickly became clear that she bit off more than she could chew. The stakes were high, and so was her stress.
She could scream. She really could- the room she's been confined to is sound-proofed, after all. But when an equally stressed, haggard stranger mistakenly walks in on her assigned room, things start to get less stressful. Or at least just a tiny bit- the animation industry is maddening.
But at least they've got each other.

Summary
Cassian and Jyn didn't have the time to fully take each other in when they first met. But since Scarif, Cassian had started to notice things about Jyn- her scent, the way her lips curve, her fiery determination- that drive him wild with lust. Jyn, meanwhile, craves Cassian's body at the thought of his hands, the way he moves, and even his kriffing blaster holster.
It's such a shame, then, that they have no idea that their feelings are mutual.

“I’ve been given an assignment,” Cassian said without so much as a greeting, or even bothering to look up at her as he continued to look through all the shelves and closets to make sure every square inch of her quarters was clear of anything the Empire could use for themselves (assuming they decided to merely raid the base rather than destroy it outright).
Jyn wanted to go with him. She wanted to make sure that they left together so that they could watch each other survive. But if things go wrong and they don’t make it…
Cassian is sent on a mission while Jyn is ordered to stay behind with the Alliance High Command. It's just an extraction, she thinks, but the days keep passing and he still hasn't come back for his parka like he promised.

Jyn was just holding Cassian's hand.
But then one thing led to another, and she wasn't entirely sure when or how his lips made themselves at home pressed against hers. It was a wonderful feeling, letting the shiver run up and down her spine as he lavished attention onto her, but did she want this to lead into something more?
As sweet as his kisses were, she had a choice to make. Was she ready? Would she even know if she was ready?
Despite the thoughts racing through her mind, sometimes all it takes is a leap of faith.

Summary
Humans and merfolk never interact with each other. In the rare instance that they do, it always ends in death- a price humans have paid.
And yet, despite these warnings, Cassian was here, on land, in her kingdom, serving in her navy, speaking and finless and with feet. Jyn wanted to tell him that she knew who he really was, where he was from, how she knew he was present in so many chapters of her life, but their difference in rank and his decision to stay entirely silent about his identity created a wall between them. All she wanted to do was get to know more about the man she'd grown attracted to with each passing month, especially now that they're finally able to speak to each other.
This was her chance. And as Steela always said: Walls are meant to be surmounted.
