Worst yet...she was in some version of a historically inaccurate and anachronistic Ancient Fantasy China in the middle of what might-have-been an assassination attempt. One that was probably going to end with her either dead or married off far too young. The only light in her particular tunnel?
Running away to Cang Qiong Mountain Sect, where they didn't care about your social status or wealth, only your potential as a cultivator. The only problem was, she *knew* that name. She knew what it implied about the future of the world around her.
And she was *not* going to stand for it.
No matter what she had to do - or who she had to piss off - to save the decent kid she met at the disciple selections, and his slave-brother, from a fate that could turn out far worse than death.

Summary
Are you copper or canyon? Canyons stand great and mighty, jagged rock and stone that is slowly carved and ebbed away with time and water, until a trickle becomes a roar, a stream becomes a river. But in the end, under great force like Atlas holding the sky, they still erode. Crumbling more and more until a great chasm spans out between them, and what it once was is only recognizable in its shadow.
Copper changes color. Shiny and blinding, but over time it fades. Darker and darker it goes, exposed to wind and rain, to air, until it's nothing more than a dull, soft green. Recognizable in its shape still, but undeniably changed. You could restore it, but in doing so you risk stripping it of it's original detail.
What does Shen Yuan do when faced against the current; when faced against the elements? Is he copper, dulling over time, but retaining his shape. Or is he canyon, slowly being chipped away with more and more pressure, until a crack becomes a chasm? To erode, to stand tall?
Let me try that again:
Shen Yuan wakes up in a woodshed.
He's in a body that is not his own. He thinks.

Summary
Ming Fan has a qi deviation after Luo Binghe gets on his last nerve and remembers his past lives. Realizing he's just a side character unable to affect the fate of their world, he gives up on trying to change it. He won't even look at Luo Binghe, let alone antagonize him. He stays in his room when he can and even asks to leave the sect. Believing its theirs--but especially Luo Binghe's--fault, the Qing Jing Disciples set out to make Ming Fan want to stay.
A.K.A. Ming Fan realizes he's just a cannon fodder side character and gives up, not knowing that giving up was the one way he could change the narrative of their story.

When Shen Qingqiu fails his first mission, he loses the opportunity to unfreeze the OOC function. He has to go through the events of the story in-character as the original goods. He's sure that he's definitely getting human sticked until he stumbles onto a possible solution: if it's out-of-character to not be evil, what if the scum villain got some character development?
Meanwhile, Luo Binghe is getting paranoid that his Shizun has started being nice to him. In a really mean way.
