Summary
You and your family have been free for five years. And it feels like a lifetime compared to that hell. It still doesn't feel real to you. You keep expecting to wake up and be in that fucking cell.
But, you don't. You all got out, relatively safe and sound. You even had a real home now. No more scientists, self-proclaimed researchers, experiments, or punishments. You didn't live in a lab anymore, you lived in a big house deep within a forest. Everything was amazing and nothing could change that.
Then you got some new neighbors. And one, in particular, was seemingly hellbent on getting you all to abandon your home. You may have never met them, but you already pitied the poor bastard for starting a war with you.
Nobody fucks with your family and gets away with it. Nobody.

Summary
After the Fall of Atlas, Remnant huntress Weiss Schnee finds herself in a very strange world where everything is different, and huntsmen have never existed. As she struggles to find out what has happened to her (and the Relic of Knowledge that came with her), six strange, magical (and... rather demanding) skeleton monsters take her in, though they know nothing about her or what's happened to her, offering her protection from a world she knows nothing about.
Of course, only in exchange for her services as a... maid?! A Schnee heiress, working as an indentured servant?!
But there's yet another problem: in this world, humans don't have anything like Aura or Semblances. And if these skeletons find out that Weiss has them, they might think she's a mage.
Given how... antagonistic these skeleton monsters are towards humans in general, and monsterkind's history with mages...
Well, Weiss has quite a balancing act to keep up in this mansion.
(NOTE: This work assumes that you are up-to-date with RWBY Volume 8 - if you haven't finished that volume, a lot of stuff I've written here will not make sense. I make some minor canon changes to get to the setup, but very minor.)
