Summary
Merlin steals Arthur's cape because he's cold. Arthur notices, and things escalate quickly because Arthur's a pining idiot with very little impulse control.
“Why are you wearing it? It’s my cape!” Arthur says, voice stern and not at all petulant, no matter what certain traitorous manservants might say.
“And I’m cold, and your cape is warm,” Merlin says, like it's a simple fact and not a poor excuse for cape-thievery.
“That doesn’t mean you can just take it!” Arthur objects. Suddenly, an idea pops into his head. “Actually, you know what? Fine," the king declares. "If you want to wander around dressed like a knight, then fine, but you need to really dress the part.” Arthur grins mischievously, already imagining how much trouble Merlin will have walking around in full armor.

Some playful arguing and shenanigans featuring everyone's favorite Once and Future Idiots!
“You know, just on the other side of these hills is a long, completely flat plain; it’s perfect for a race if you’re feeling up for it later,” Merlin comments.
“There’s a town near here, too, isn’t there? What was it called, again?” Arthur asks.
“Cholame."
Arthur looks like he's been slapped across the face with a freshly caught haddock. “I’m sorry, did you say shalam?” he asks, incredulous.

Summary
Pining dorks getting together, featuring sleep-deprived Merlin, besotted Arthur, and a bonus appearance by Gwaine.
Merlin wakes up from his impromptu nap on Arthur’s bed. He only meant to rest for a moment, but he must've fallen asleep accidentally. It’s odd; his boots have been taken off, and he’s been moved from on top of the bed to under the covers, but he has no recollection of either of those things having happened. He feels oddly well-rested, and the red marks on his skin normally present after a nap aren’t there.
His train of thought is thoroughly derailed when Arthur walks in. There’s a brief moment of worry that he’ll get in trouble for napping on the job, but Arthur doesn’t look angry.
